Óscar Acosta

Óscar Acosta (b. 1933 in Tegucigalpa, Honduras) is a Honduran writer, critic, politician and diplomat.[1] [2] [3]

Acosta started as a journalist in Peru for Tegucigalpa Magazine. He founded la Editorial Nuevo Continente, las revistas Extra, Presente, la Editorial Iberoamericana, and Honduras Literaria y Extra. He was director of the University Press of the Universidad Nacional Autónoma de Honduras.[4]

He has cultivated several artistic forms of expression; his poetry has a markedly intimate, patriotic quality.

Mis manos tocan, niña mía, tu rumorosa piel, tu dulcísima carne que tranquilos ángeles habitan
(My hands touch, my little girl, your rumourous skin, your very sweet flesh dwelt in by still angels)
